The Myth of Meta Tags
Meta tags are not a major factor in getting high search engine rankings.
There are only two meta tags that are useful for search engine optimization:
- Meta description
- Meta keywords
Search Engine Submissions
Search engine submissions do not work.
Web sites are not ranked based upon how many times they are submitted to search engines.
Search engines work by sending out a program over the Web called a "spider." In the case of Google, this spider is called the GoogleBot. These spiders work by following links on web pages. If you have links to your web pages from other indexed web sites, GoogleBot and the other search engine spiders will find your pages automatically.
